Not us according to Cam Mooney. He has Melbourne as the most likely.
Cameron Mooney looks at which teams outside the top eight can play finals in 2017CAMERON MOONEY
Geelong Advertiser
June 22, 2016 4:57pmTHE top eight is virtually set in stone entering the mid-season byes.
Of the chasing pack, only Port Adelaide seems a realistic chance of making the jump, but it is already two games and percentage back and, frankly, isn’t playing well enough.
But that doesn’t mean that the year is over for 10 clubs. On the contrary, what they do in the second half of the season is vital in terms of getting ready for 2017 and beyond.
There are a couple of clubs knocking on the door of the eight. But who is ready to bust down the door and play finals next year?
RICHMONDRichmond has to go backwards before it goes forwards. This list has gone as far as it can go. I don’t see where their improvement is going to come from.
It is now a question of what do they do with their list. Do they need to make some bold moves to try and rejuvenate a list that not too many people have in high regard. Their stars are stars but then it drops away badly.
