Martin had the same issues, busted tackles but was crap at laying them.
It does come down to technique, but as has been said, it is intent. Good tacklers want to tackle, they dont do it just because the coach says you have to lay X amount per game..

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Our players are mostly too slow to tackle.  They get one lazy hand on a jumper at best most of the time, and look like they lack grip strength to hold on, those who do don't know how to use their bodies after that.  Surely they do grapple training and body weight stuff to build grip strength...Rioli gets it, torques with his body weight twisting their hips and shoulders with his grip on the wrist and hip.  Take the centre, standard Aikido and Judo and probably every other throwing and grappling martial art for controlling the opponent.

Numbers were up, which was pleasing, but techniques are still poor....still failed to prevent the handball on far too many occasions...

Funny that it always take the media to point out flaws of our club. Can they do it every week. Tackling pressure was much better this week.

Im sure they'll get the riot act read to them during the week to fix that quick smart - "I said Corral not tackle! where's Ty?! he knows what its about!"
