Wow! 50 point turnaround by the Dogs in 1 & 1/2 qtrs. I think Clarko might be worried about contested footy stats right about now  ;D.

We could have had Josh Dunkley

If we had traded some of the obvious names out for top 25 picks last year (rather than giving them way) then we could have. The Doggies got Dunkley with pick 25.

In 2014, GWS finished 16th & the Bulldogs finished 14th (then sacked their coach and had senior players walk out). Two years later, they are both playing off for a Grand Final spot. The Giants have been gifted a stack of early draft picks and concessions by the AFL to get to where they are now but the Dogs have had to do it by making the tough decisions in regards to recruiting, list management and coaching.

2016 is the season of speed and attack. Speed by foot both offensively to create space and defensively to close down opposition space; speed in moving the footy on transition; choosing the best attacking options quickly rather than playing slow, short and 'safe' (the latter is <2015 and no longer works). Of course, the fundamentals of footy never change - intensity, workrate, gut-running in both directions, pressure, chasing, tackling, blocking, shepherding, smothering (Dogs had a stack tonight), outnumbering your opposition at the contest, winning more of the ball, making smart decisions, using it well and putting the score on the board.

Hawthorn can't win a final now that Newman is helping them.  :rollin

Apparently there were quite a few fights involving (mainly)  hawthorn supporters making trouble after the game.

3 flags in a row werent enough? Lol
