More midfielders might be on the menu for Richmond, though they are light on for tall marking forwards, which could mean they look at someone like Josh Battle, Patrick Kerr or Elliot Himmelberg with their first pick. The first might not be there for them but at least one of the other two should be, if not both. Himmelberg is the more athletic option, but Kerr is a confident, aggressive type who wants the ball in his hands and loves the responsibility of kicking goals.

If they look instead for onballers, Sam Powell-Pepper would be a good fit. He has power, determination and a real bit of burst. Joe Atley, Willem Drew, Josh Begley and Jack Graham could bring in some strength and so could Daniel Venables, who may slide a bit due to his foot injuries but would be a bit of a bargain should he make it through.

One other area Richmond might look at is their half-back line. Vlastuin is at a point where he should be part of the centre square mix, and while everyone hopes Chris Yarran can find his way back to his best form there are no guarantees he will be able to do what they got him for. Do they go after a bit more pace, or someone who can carry the ball out of the backline and set up play? Sam Walker, Josh Rotham, Bailey Morrish, Mitch Hinge and Tom Williamson have some of those qualities and could all be looked at. Jarrod Berry could be long gone, but is difficult to place and another who may get through.
