17 August 2017Chris McDermott: DON’T BE CRAZYNOW, I would traditionally agree with this statement, but in 2017 you cannot be serious. This is a team that boasts some genuine quality and not just one or two but many stars.
Trent Cotchin is a gem. Dustin Martin a superstar. Jack Riewoldt is magnificent and Alex Rance as good as there is in defence. But there are so many more, unsung heroes.
The Tigers have a squad of dangerous small men in attack, great rebound from the back half and some genuine soldiers who just get the job done.
Couple that with Toby Nankervis in ruck and you’ve got a very good team with a very good man at the helm in Damien Hardwick.
They carry a heavy burden as Richmond players, but if anyone can end the club’s drought it is this team under this coach. Maybe not this year, but soon.
Michaelangelo Rucci: ON THE MONEYCHRISTOPHER, you cannot back the truck that far. You have been trying to make the AFL ladder predictor put Richmond in ninth spot — and the Tigers’ fans have long, long memories. And all those who tipped Richmond to beat Geelong at Kardinia Park last week, you now know the Tigers are indeed the big tease.
