Under a 17-5 fixture, Richmond would be 8th (PerthNow)
« on: September 03, 2017, 05:20:47 PM »
When applying the fairer 17-5 model, third-placed Richmond would finish eighth on percentage, and would have missed the top group of six and the chance to compete for a top-four finish altogether.

The Tigers have roared in 2017 after being given little hope heading into the season. But Damien Hardwick’s side have also taken advantage of their easy draw after having to play only one finalist twice.

Richmond also doubled-up against bottom-five battlers Fremantle (14th), Carlton (16th) and Brisbane (18th). Of those six games, the Tigers won five and recorded a whopping percentage of 160.76.

They have applied the 5 games we'd have played - which makes no sense
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

It's true we had an easy draw this year. But others have exploited AFL loopholes before and will again I'm sure.

What, pray tell, is the harsh reality Karl Langdon?

Lol.

When is a draw easy in an even season?

Also, if you think playing last years finalists is more difficult, how many of them became finalists from an easy draw themselves?

It's much more complicated than described.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.
