Richmond AFL finals: Ugly Duckling makes tigers inspired cocktailKara Irving,

14 September 2017IF THE footy finals are making you as thirsty as the Richmond Tigers for a flag, then you’re in luck.
Richmond bar The Ugly Duckling has created an aptly-themed cocktail to celebrate the Tigers’ clawing victory over the Cats in last Friday’s qualifying final.
The Conquistador — made with blanco tequila, cold drip coffee, orange amaro and passionfruit syrup — is a regular on the Swan St bar’s drink list, but for the next week it will include a Tigers twist.
The sophisticated drop is served with a pineapple chunk, chargrilled with a blowtorch for a theatrical effect.
Bar manager Josh Hampshire said the drink was symbolic of the Tigers’ finals victory.
“A conquistador is a person or group that is out to conquer new land or territory,” he said.
“So it’s perfect for the upcoming victory of the Tigers in the Grand Final.”
The cocktail is only on the menu at the Ugly Duckling for the next week, so here’s hoping Richmond lasts a little longer in the AFL finals.
How to make the Tigers cocktail:45ml Blanco Tequila
20ml Boston black cold drip coffee
10ml Averna bitter orange amaro
20ml passionfruit syrup
10ml lime juice
10ml sugar syrup
House made pineapple jam
