Why Brown is solid gold for Tigers . . .

By Richmond forward line coach, Darren Crocker
Eye of the Tiger

It is not until you can see the way a player goes about his football from a personal, close- up perspective, that you can make an informed opinion on his value.

A lot of people around the club have said how surprised they were by Browny’s smallish stature when they first saw him close-up. Physically, he is not a big person, but there certainly is a lot of power and speed packed into his frame.

… Browny's kicking around the ground is nearly as good as it gets.

This brings his teammates into the game as well.

If you watched Nathan closely you, too, undoubtedly would make the observations I have. What a lot of people would not see, however, is how hard he works on his game.

He has put some of our players to shame with the amount of time he spends working on his field kicking, ground level play, marking on the lead under pressure, crumbing and his general goalkicking.

Browny is a real pro, who is not frightened to speak up, either, and has already offered some terrific advice to the group in our endeavors to get better collectively. He has been one of our more consistent performers…

That was an fantastic last quarter from him on Sunday. He just took the game by the scruff of the neck with his silky skills particularly with the wet ball. You got to love how he knows where the goals are. He can be facing away from the goals then can suddenly swing around his body and pop it through out of nowhere. Glad he's a Tiger :) .
