TIGERS SET THEIR FINALS TIMETABLE

Richmond is aiming to be in its best form at the right time of the year according to star defender, Nick Vlastuin.

He said that last year, the Tigers were building towards the end of the season but hit a flat spot as they approached the finals.

He told RSN927’s Breakfast Club that this season was building in a similar fashion to the premiership year of 2017.

“We are building in confidence and it’s important to be in form at the right time.”

The Tigers had a big win over St Kilda last weekend with a wealth of experience and talent returning to the team after injury and this weekend they travel north to tackle the Gold Coast.

“We hope we can now get on a run, especially as we have the last seven games at home at the MCG,” Vlastuin said.

He said it was exciting to get some of the club’s big names back in action, including skipper, Trent Cotchin.

“I think that during the last quarter against St Kilda we were getting back towards our best.”

Vlastuin said the versatility of new recruit, Sydney Stack, was also on show against St Kilda as team changes meant he had to move into the forward line, rather than roaming at half back.

“I don’t think we will see him in the backline again too soon but the defenders will continue to remind him where he came from in the team,” Vlastuin said.
