Terry Wallace names his two Grand Finalists as things standBy SEN
10 July 2019Australian Football Hall of Famer Terry Wallace has predicted West Coast and Richmond to make this year’s Grand Final as things stand.
With seven rounds remaining in the home-and-away season, Geelong sit at the top of the ladder a game clear of the Eagles with Collingwood and Brisbane occupying third and fourth spot.
Wallace fancies the Tigers, who currently sit in sixth position, to make a late-season charge with all seven of their remaining fixtures scheduled at the MCG.
“I would have West Coast Eagles as the favourite,” he told SEN Drive.
“Only now with the way there’s been dropped games from some of the other sides around them and when you have a look at what they’ve got in the run home, I think they can get themselves a top two position.
“I would probably have Geelong as second favourites, but if you’re asking me to pick my Grand Finalists as we sit, I’d go West Coast and Richmond.
The thee-time premiership Hawk also believes star Richmond defender Alex Rance will make a stunning return from an ACL injury in time for the finals.
“If they get themselves up into a position, which I think they will now, I think he will get back and play,” Wallace said.
West Coast and Richmond are the premiers from the last two seasons.
