Coburg Tigers: Hall King Silvester Humm Hughes Howat

Good to see Razor our best. We need him to come in for Sarge and Thursty.

Seems Coburg lost the game in front of goal. Had more scoring shots for most of the game.

I'm confused with the results here - did Cleve kick four goals
You've got two sets of results

I've just got home from the game

Limbach, McGuane and Angus Graham played for the Burgers reserves.

Thought Oakley-Nicholls was very good - surprised he dind't get in the best players.

Ray Hall was good - ran hard all day

Chaffey - just needs more games in his legs

Roach - has to be in line for a call up based on today's game best I've seen him play in a long time

Polo - took mark of the day in the second qtr. Solid game, laid some very strong tackles

Humm - played better as the game went on. Started on the bench actually.

Howat - I don't know what to make of this bloke, IMHO fades in and out of the game alot

Tambling - steady but looks down on confidence

Rodan - got better as the game went on but still trying to do too much instead of taking first option

Pattison - had to put up with shocking delivery into the forward line but struggled early on to hold his mark. Much better in the 2nd half

Hughes - dropped a few but looked good on the lead. Should have kicked more than 4 missed a couple as well. Was very impressed with his second efforts in trying to keep the ball in the Burgers fwd half.

Meyer - not outstanding but steady. His skill stood out a number of times. Was very glad to see him lay a few really strong tackles on couple of the Bullants bigger blokes

White - started slowly but improved as the game went on. Has he been injured I wonder because he seemed to struggle in the final qtr - that is he seemed to run out of legs

Burgers kicking for goal was terrible - impacted on the game big time, espeically in the first and third qtrs

Even though he made some mistakes liked how Polo went about it
Meyers form is a real worry , maybe i missed some good things he did but only remember seeing him get 3 or 4 posessions...
Hughes and Jon looked good as stated..

Even though he didn't get a lot of it i liked some of the glimpses from White , really used his pace to break free a few times to get clear..

Hughes, Oakley Nicholls, Tambling and Meyer need to be brought along. Theyre so important for our future its not funny i reckon. Tambling and Meyer need to get there heads into gear- both could be outstanding but its just not happening at the moment for them. have to wait and see with Casserley.

At the start of the year I was writing Roachy off but over the past month he's shown signs that maybe it's  beginning to click for him. In the RFC/Coburg game what stood out was that he actually does have good awareness and a footy brain when he uses it and can back it up with clean disposal under pressure. Did he show signs of that yesterday?

Which positions did Meyer and Tambling play?

Tambling played on the wing with oddl run in the centre

Meyer played HFF but was thrown in the centre once or twice.

Meyers form is a real worry , maybe i missed some good things he did but only remember seeing him get 3 or 4 posessions...

Granted he didn't get many stats I thought a few times he worked hard in really trying to keep defensive pressure on the Bullants backs which in the past has been a part of his game that hasn't been great because he seems to get pushed out of the contests so easily.

But going by yesterday I doubt he'd in line for the seniors despite our injury list

Fair call HB - I just thought in the last qtr he looked really tired. But one big thing in his favour outside his obvious pace IMO is his attack on the footy - he's tough and his upper body is alot bigger and he looks alot stronger than some of our other blokes - Meyer being the perfect example

Cheers WP  :).

I'm surprised we aren't giving both runs in the backline as attacking rebounding defenders. IMHO we're playing Meyer out of position on a HFF.

That would be ok if you wanted there opponents to kick 10 goals on them

If they initially get a few goals kicked on them playing off a HBF then so be it. It's not we'd match them up against someone who is 18kgs heavier than them like Clarkson did to Dawson. At least they'll get their hands on the footy a fair bit to use their skills and build up some confidence. At the same time they can learn to improve their accountability. It's all about education IMO. That ain't gonna happen from the graveyard of a HFF.
