RICHMOND UNEQUIVOCAL REGARDING SHAI BOLTON RUMOURBY Andrew Slevison
SEN
7 June 2024Richmond has absolutely no intention of trading Shai Bolton.
Recent reports suggest that Fremantle is interested in Bolton and planning a “stunning trade raid” for the talented West Australian.
However, Bolton remains contracted until 2028 and the Tigers are not interested in sending him to the Dockers, or any other club for that matter.
The club’s GM of football performance, Tim Livingstone, described the Bolton report simply as a “rumour”.
“I think 17 clubs would be interested in Shai, wouldn’t they?,” Livingstone said on SEN.
“He’s a star player, he’s loved at our club and he loves being at our club.
“He’s a contracted player so I’m not interested in getting involved in that sort of rumour.”
Livingstone was asked a follow-up question: Under no circumstance will Bolton be traded?
“Not at all,” was Livingstone’s unequivocal answer.
The two-time premiership player returned from concussion for Richmond’s eight-point win over the Crows in Adelaide on Thursday night.
He picked up 20 disposals, had seven clearances, four centre clearances and six inside 50s in the club’s second win of the season.
