Boris Yeltsin
« on: April 24, 2007, 04:52:27 PM »
Boris Yeltsin has died.

He loved his vodka and singing and dancing sloshed while discussing world issues lol but he was part of the biggest chain of events and political change in my lifetime with the fall of communism in Russia and Eastern Europe.

I always looked at Gorby as the man who had the biggest change on communsim and the Eastern Block nations rather than Boris.

Boris Yelstin will always the be the pickled one to me  ;D

Yeah, Gorby brought the world to the USSR - as a map on his scone.

Keep on partying in that Kremlin in the sky, Boris.

A man who was sensible enough to understand that he could not look at politics with a sober eye and not feel disgust and horror.

Very true WP (even the pickled bit  ;D ) but Yelstin gets his dues for literally standing in the face of a potential counter revolution by the communist hardliners who didn't want change. Once he got the president gig he then became the pickled one lol.
