Commentator Bruce McAvaney has named Tigers star Dustin Martin as the greatest to ever wear the yellow and black.

Speaking in the build up to Richmond’s clash with Geelong on Channel 7, the veteran game caller said the two-time Norm Smith medalist was the best he’s seen play for the Tigers.

“I think it’s (Kevin) Bartlett, and it’s (Royce) Hart and it’s Dustin Martin (as Richmond’s best three),” he said.

“I didn’t see Jack Dyer or Jack Titus so it’s so difficult, but to me Dustin Martin is Richmond’s finest player.

“He’s the best player I have called in a Richmond jumper.

“I do (think he’s the greatest Tiger of all time). Two Norm Smith’s, a Brownlow Medal, 240-odd games, I think he’s the best Tiger of all-time.”

Martin won the 2017 Brownlow medal, making him one of six players to do so for the Tigers.

Granted my memory of AFL only really stems back to the late-90's, but for me Dusty is the best ever.

Richo in this team would have kicked 1,000+

Same Ramps. KB still stands alone and I only really saw his last 6-7 years
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Coached, board etc

Just loved the RFC unconditionally

Its about playing career not about what they did afterwards.

KB stands alone as one of the greatest ever.
Also helped the club by coaching when it was on its knees and then they shafted him for a washed up coach after he built a decent group of youngsters.  :banghead
The club that keeps giving.
