Dave Astbury on SEN 28-9-20

Astbury on SEN just before 4pm with Andy Maher & Bob Murphy:

* Club good at keeping a routine on bye weekends. Hit out on Friday where we played 2/3rds of a match simulation. Helped Prestia & others pushing for a spot. Started training week today. We work back from matchday. Everyone pretty excited for Friday.

* Post-knee surgery? Dave really grateful to have a great rehab team. Last Sunday against Adelaide was his first game back. Always a bit nervous/anxious first game back but was well prepared and got through it. Now that he has got a game under the belt he is not concerned about it.

* We are fairly serious to put the focus on the journey so it's a week to week thing. Always important to have some fun. It's a different year but you don't want to change too much from the H/A season going into finals.

* We play a system defence so there's not a big emphasis on match-ups. Brisbane have a good mix of tall and small forwards. So it will take a team defensive effort. We respect Brisbane as a team. It's going to be a big game.

* Footy world moves so quickly so you need to focus on what you're doing next. We accept(ed) responsibility for our indiscretions and we believe we've handled them well. We want to be a club that is respected.

* Dave doesn't read papers nor listen to the radio as far as footy discussion. While it's not in your face we still get info second hand via social media and alike. So we're not out of the bubble.

* Mitch Robinson entitled to opinion on Lynchy. Not something Dave will focus on. We'll see how that pans out.
