Caro has written an article today about AFL clubs in particular Essendon losing their soul after abandoning their traditional home (eg: Windy Hill) for outer suburbia training facilties.

We of course remained at Punt Rd and in Richmond. Caro adds:

"Richmond may have botched several key design features at Punt Road but remaining in the heart of Richmond will prove a triumphant legacy decision for the Tigers."

I was also of the belief that going to Craigeburn and Beaconfield to even have training days was unnecessary.
Our heart and soul is Punt Rd.
It’s an unshakable part of our DNA
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
