Benny Gale talking to the playing group in the rooms post-game.
Dimma said Gale was just wanted to commend Cotch in front of the group on him breaking the captain games record.

Think you will find Benny also mentioned Dimma' s record of 250 games as well  :shh

Ratten just said it was a reverse of scoring trends from both sides tonight.

We kicked 8.4-52 from stoppages to their 1.3-9. From centre clearances we kicked 4.2-26. We are typically 16th in the comp. for stoppages scores.

Oddly they did better than us from turnovers which is usually our strength.

Ratten saw it as a bonus for us to now know we can add stoppage scoring to our normal turnover scoring gamestyle.

Great games from Lynch, Sheds, Nank with bolts and dusty rounding out our top5 I reckon.

Very sloppy and fumbly overall but the win is all that matters.

What the experts said

Dermott Brereton on Fox Footy: “They didn’t totally control this game, yet they won handsomely, and they won in a fashion we’re not totally used to seeing.

“They find ways to win. They find ways to overcome. The system that they use, if one isn’t working, they’re capable of going to the next one, and tonight the next one was winning the ball at the stoppage and scoring from centre bounces.”

Jonathan Brown on Fox Footy: “It’s almost like they said going into the game, let’s stop mucking around with the amount of people going through centre bounces. Martin, Edwards, Prestia, Cotchin. There you go boys, get the job done.”
