How did you rate our preseason?

Foxsports gave us a B+.

RICHMOND

The promising sign

Honestly the most promising sign is that nothing has changed. The Tigers still look like the competition’s benchmark, and have a realistic shot at becoming the first team to ever use a Grand Final-winning 22 in another AFL match. Dustin Martin is still very, very good. They’re still ridiculously deep in defence, with Jayden Short’s 43 disposals and 958 metres gained a sign of how well the new man-on-the-mark rules will suit him. Seriously, find a weakness in this team. You’ve got until late September.

The early question mark

They’ve got the enviable problem of having selection dilemmas because players are knocking down the door to get into the side, rather than falling out of it. Josh Caddy (27 disposals and a goal) didn’t play in the Grand Final. Neither did Jake Aarts (14 games last season). Kids like Callum Coleman-Jones and Riley Collier-Dawkins would be playing every week at most clubs.
