---------------------------------------------------

* It was a strange old game. Both sides moved the ball pretty well, we just didn't finish off inside 50. Left goals on the table with both sides only kicking 5 combined in the second half.

* There's a lot of things to like and certainly some growth areas for us, which is really important. Some areas in our game to improve on but we walk away happy with the win."

* Thought Hawthorn were terrific. Good young side, well coached and well drilled.

* Period in the 2nd qtr they gained ascendancy but didn't think we lost control.

* Thought we moved the ball well but couldn't quite get that last inside 50 kick right. It's something common for us which gets better later on in the season. We'll work on that at training this week.

* Cotch was good for his first up game this year. By his own admission he missed some kicks. The game is so fast on transition. He'll get use to it and improve next week.

* Dusty was fantastic again. Gave away some goals we would've like for him to kick himself. He makes the right decisions most of the time so we won't be telling him what to do.

* We weren't going to use Ross as sub again but we thought he was next best and could be used again. Has to doing extra running now back at Punt Rd.

* Nank's been outstanding. Good start to the year. Happy with the ruck combo for now with Balta and Astbury chopping him out. Nank is our only No.1 as we speak. If Soldo was available as a transitional ruckman we'd might do something different. CCJ is No.2 right now but he isn't available either until round 5.

* Blamed turnovers simply on fatigue. Jumpers didn't have anything to do with it from his view. Need to ask that question to the players.

* Vlastuin was close but we are pretty conservative with these things especially early on in the year. Rather him miss one week than have him play with a grumbling knee for 2-3 weeks. We want him 100%. He is so important to how we play and such a wonderful player. Will play next week.

* Houli will push for next week. Game the way is played now will suit him. As much as it would be good to get a VFL game into him it's a hard decision given the way the game is played now.

* Swans are good. Bloody exciting to watch. Longmire has them playing well. Cheered for Buddy when he kicked that goal yesterday. Youngsters playing like they've been together for 5-6 years.

* Some journo asked Dimma if he was going to call Longmire and congratulate him on the Swans' attacking footy this year.
