Tigers probe Sydney style

RICHMOND Coach Terry Wallace admits the Tigers cannot be satisfied with matching Sydney defensively to beat the Swans on Saturday night. Sydney smashed the Tigers by 118 points two months ago. Wallace said Richmond had to carry and use the ball well instead of focusing on matching the Swans' renowned knack of tightening games and winning stoppages. "If you can't match them in that area of the game, you're not likely to beat them — you've got to be able to match a side in its strengths and then be able to break into your strengths," Wallace said. The game will have a big bearing on the finals hopes of both Sydney (seventh) and Richmond (ninth), which each have 8-7 win-loss records. Richmond midfielder Brett Deledio has recovered from a corked hip and should play. Wallace said there was nothing wrong with forward Nathan Brown last Friday night against Melbourne, other than that he was well beaten by Demon Matthew Whelan.
