I think hes terrific to come on after half time when the others are running out of legs. He doesnt impact enough throughout the game when he starts. Just my view.

Great comeback win

1st half was deplorable

But the Cubs kept us in it

Would be great to know where the 2nd half intensity, attack on the contest and ball was in the 1st half

Would be great to know where the 2nd half intensity, attack on the contest and ball was in the 1st half

My goodness that was wonderful

Got my 8yo to come along (love arvo games, stuff 7:50's).

So good to beat Briswhinge I hate them so much. Never seen a more egotistical group of also-rans.

Lynch was massive. Cumberland. Rioli. Bolton. Cotch.

Sheesh  what a great fight back but we should never have been in the position where we had to fight back from such a large margin.

We lose this game and everyone is talking about just how poor some players were especially early and sheesh they were.  but we have won and not a lot will be said papering over the cracks. Could name at least 9 players who i thought were poor but won't. Instead a bit of praise for a few

Thought Prestia was huge along with Bolton and Nankervis. Lynchy blew the cobwebs out in the first half and showed just why he gets paid the big bucks. And Cotch for an old man gave his all.
Cumberland took every opportunity and applied good pressure. Mrj was good when on and gave us some needed zip and pressure.
And kudos to those players who lifted after shocking first half's

The big defenders thought back well after a poor first quarter and i question the match ups but sheesh how did we let Coleman run loose like that for so long.
Only negative comment is i thought our coaching was poor in the first half in particular.

While Brisbane's game fell away, Richmond's possession game returned to them with aplomb. In the second half, Richmond scored 7.3 (45) from intercept possessions, after only managing 10 points from the same source in the first half. This was 32 points more than Brisbane in a half of football - 17 points higher than Richmond's 2022 full-game average.

Searching for their first win since Round 21, 2014 at the MCG, Brisbane gave up a 42-point lead and were overrun by the Tigers. This came about as Brisbane's ball movement was stifled by Richmond. In the first half, Brisbane turned 34 defensive chains into 16 forward 50 entries and 6.3 (39); in the second half, 30 defensive chains only yielded seven entries and three behinds.

Gez that first quarter and start of second quarter was horrible I reckon we gifted them atleast 6 goals silly mistakes all round , but Jayden Short was killing us.

Graham Edwards Ross and Pickett - we're not getting enough output from those 4 players.

Very surprised Rioli didn't get a vote.  Shut Cameron out of the game completely and his run and carry in the 2nd half was very important.

HTF did Lachie Neale get a vote?  Did he marry Fagan's daughter or something?

Round 20 Report Card

Ben Cotton, Ben Waterworth, David Zita and Catherine Healey
Foxsports
1 August 2022

RICHMOND

Their season looked done 42 points down against the Lions, but the Tigers finally woke up and cranked up the pressure dial, putting in a second half that was as overwhelming as the first half was underwhelming. This keeps the Tigers well and truly alive in the finals race, but more importantly could be the kick-starter for their belief they can compete with and beat the best sides in the competition.

In the votes

Shai Bolton kicked two goals but had chances at so many more and could’ve finished with at least a handful. Trent Cotchin willed himself into the game, while Tom Lynch kicked four goals and was a force to be reckoned with in the air. Perhaps most impressive was Noah Cumberland, who booted five goals after such a difficult finish last week. Toby Nankervis dominated from a clearance standpoint compared to his direct opponent.

Room for improvement

Going 42 points down against any opponent isn’t ideal and the Lions were scoring at will. Admittedly their accuracy helped make things seem worse than they perhaps were, but it still wasn’t a four-quarter performance from the Tigers. Losing Dylan Grimes to a hamstring injury will sting, so the side will have to lift to fill the void. They fell short in the contested possession count even though they made inroads after half-time.
