Wow did not see them dropping edwards. Interesting call, you’d think he’d be the sub and a very handy one at that.

Richmond great Matthew Richardson expects Edwards to be named the medical sub.

“100 per cent he (Edwards) will be the sub, I’ve got no doubt about that,” he told Sportsday.

“I guess the call for them was going to be (Jack) Ross or (Tyler) Sonsie, who have probably been the ones that you would think were susceptible as young midfielders, but they both got coaches’ votes in Round 23.

“I don’t think it’s a big surprise (Edwards selection). It could be his last game though if they lose.”

I'm surprised they dropped Shedda and not Ross

Ross must stand up tomorrow night. Cannot do his usual one great game and then goes missing for the next 3.

I love that we placed our faith in the kids on the list!  They are good enough to win the game for us, even if they don't the experience of finals footy early in their careers will do them good.  We know how good our seniors are, now its time to blood the kids in the big time!     :thumbsup

There are risks involved but so what?  We would lose more if we didn't give the kids a go!

Great post JP - agree 100
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Good decision and I reckon Shedda knows where he's at and would be delighted to be sub.

Agreed. He was physically struggling last game. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Graham is sub.

Gibcus really struggled tonight.
Dusty shouldn't have played.
We missed Jack Graham.

Yes. Graham should have played over Dusty and gone to lock down Neale. Big selection stuff up.

Gibcus should have been on Hipwood early IMO. Balta just a big slow off the mark for him.

Gibcus made one big error, but I thought he was pretty good, I think you've gotta play Dusty, and yes if Graham ws fit enough they would like to have had him as sub when Prestia went down.
