On the day they farewelled club champions Trent Cotchin and Jack Riewoldt, some Richmond Tigers also enjoyed a fill-up on the punt thanks to Braveman'sgame at Morphettville Parks.

Part-owned by premiership players Liam Baker, Nathan Broad and Jack Graham, Michael Hickmott's smart four-year-old was crunched in betting to jump a $2.15 favourite – and he didn't let his supporters down.

Jockey Jake Toeroek settled just Braveman'sgame just behind the speed before making his run at the top of the straight and he had enough up his sleeve to hold off Into The Light and Cararada.

The race concluded about 30 minutes before the bounce of the ball in the Tigers' match against North Melbourne – which they went on to win by a comfortable 29 points – so there was plenty of ammunition for what was expected to be a large Saturday night celebration.

Hickmott was delighted Braveman'sgame delivered, a week after having to settle for second on debut.

"There's only person you can blame for him getting beat last week and that was me," the Murray Bridge trainer said.

"Today was better, he still got to the front and floated but he's a horse we've got a good opinion of. It is fitting he wins today for the Tigers boys in him … on the day that Jack and Trent play their last game at the MCG.

"Bakes messaged me this morning and said ‘make sure he wins today for the boys' so shout out to them."
