Yep, sadly got a feeling father time has caught up with Grimesy and he won't reach his 250th unless we cop a stack of injuries again. I think Yze will try to get games into Gibcus (in Grimesy's position) and Young with Balta becoming our senior tall defender.

We don't yet what is happening with Marlion but ignoring that there will be the temptation to try and get him to 100 games.

Reckon Nank is a given

Though not sure it will be in round 14. Depends on his discipline on field

Probably Balta as well

I left him off my original list

But as for Nank, we will see .. the club needs you to be correct

Grimes needs to pull the pin now so we can give spots to both of Lefau & Schofield - surely he realises he's cooked.... :shh

Grimes hasn’t played well since he became captain.
In 2022, he dropped a sitter at a key moment vs Goldie when we lost after siren, didn’t get goalside of Zurhaar when he kicked the winning goal and I felt was caught out of position when allowing Joe Daniher on goal line alone when Brisbane beat us in that final.

He’s lost a yard of pace which has crucified his most valuable asset - the versatility to play short or tall.
In turn, he’s dropped confidence which has resulted in the type of panic on last line of defence which we see in the above examples.

He’s signed for 2024 so I hope he can turn it around but it doesn’t look good.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
