Will we hunt after free agents?

Wishful thinking but this Tigers fan threw out Zak Butters name (Is Butters a pre-agent this year and a free agent in 2026?)

IIRC in another video he wants us to chase after Carlton's Tom De Koning.

We should have plenty of salary cap space, but will we hunt a free agent at all at the end of this year or next?

Not sure we should.

Have just drafted a massive hand. If these kids come good we will have a squeeze later.

I'd be chasing FA's in 3+ years when the kids are developed and we might have a chance to contend.

Works both ways Andy, we’d want to be careful the draftees (if any good) can see a future in 3 years which free agency will facilitate.
Otherwise, we end up like Norf who are picking up the carcass of players at the very end of their career like Sheil, Parker and Darling.
Remember, once Broad, Nank, Meatie, Flossy and Lynch go in a year or two, there’s no much left
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
