MRJ and Ralphsmith 1 year deals leave Burton and Clarke the last out of contract players remaining. Would expect similar deals for them, maybe they delist juddy and move him to the rookie list.

Tom Burton
Judson Clarke
Hugo Ralphsmith
Maurice Rioli

Steely Green
Oliver Hayes-Brown
Samson Ryan
Tyler Sonsie
James Trezise
Liam Fawcett
Kaleb Smith

The club has announced Clarke and Burton staying.

So we cut 7.

I'm thrilled they got rid of Ryan. Glad to some extend about Trezise as well.

The ones staying; Clarke, HRS, MRH and Burton, honestly I only would have kept Burton at best.

I think all of Green, Sonsie, Fawcett, Smith and OHB would have had more value on the list than the likes of MRJ, HRS, Ryan, Trezise, Clarke.

Clarke has more ability in his left pinky finger than Burton in his body

Just hoping his body can hold up

I agree.

But at least Burton is available to play pretty much all the time.

Clarke has been good company for Smillie etc to date.

Hope this changes, but as I posted elsewhere - would you keep Clarke in 2028 if he does another ACL in 2027? This is the sticking point for a lot of people. I may just have been prepared to cut him one ACL earlier than you.

One more ACL and he’s gone
But if we were going to cut him, it should have been this time last year when he was still looking at long term rehab. Not when he’s about to actually have a preseason.

His body is right now, so it’s time to show what he’s capable of, or it’s ooroo

What if his knee doesn't blow up again and he turns out a decent player?

We’ve made 9 changes overall and there’s probably another 3-5 who’s heads are on chopping block already for season 2027. Which is good. Let’s see if they can step up - Juddy is one of those.
Sounds like Mansell and Nank might be going so our base case is another 6-9 again which feels about right.
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Every club’s players coming out of contract at the end of the 2027 AFL season

RICHMOND

OUT OF CONTRACT: Campbell Gray, Jasper Alger, Josh Smillie, Judson Clarke, Kane McAuliffe, Kye Annand, Luke Trainor, Maurice Rioli, Noah Roberts-Thomson, Patrick Carr, Sam Banks, Tom Burton, Tom Sims, Tom Brown, Zane Peucker

FREE AGENTS: Hugo Ralphsmith, Jayden Short, Nick Vlastuin, Rhyan Mansell, Toby Nankervis, Tom Lynch

This has to be the year the Tigers get full seasons into their stack of star youngsters, otherwise the crater at the foot of the table could swallow them up. Rhyan Mansell is in Tasmania’s sights while Jayden Short, Nick Vlastuin, Tom Lynch and Toby Nankervis could all be out at season’s end for various reasons. Having shed so much experience already could the Tigers afford to lose any number of those five at the end of ’27? Yes – so long as the next wave doesn’t spend half the season in the rehab room.
