Certainly not suggesting it helped us win the flag in 2017 but it must have at least put a rocket under our then-board of 2016+

I agree Damo. They definitely are a reminder of us in the bad old days. It's been 25 years since their last flag. 24 years after our 1980 flag in 2004, we had that board challenge against Clinton Casey. So, there's similarities timewise. Our Board at the time mostly survived but the difference is we stopped drinking the kool aid after that and came together as a Club to all move in the one direction forward. Essendon on the other hand are still a club in denial and former players have too much of a say. I mean they still try to play the victim a decade after their drug saga.
