Newman at training
« on: July 26, 2006, 01:52:50 PM »
Newy was at training today. He still needs crutches to move around and has a compression bandage around his left leg. The leg is slightly thinner than the right as expected but not too bad. The surprising thing he did was free-stand on both legs and do some handballing with Harts. Hopefully a good sign that things are progressing well for Newy's sake. Newy then watched the scratch match leaning on his crutches then went inside. He still looked to be moving gingerly when moving around on his crutches though.

Harts himself is also on crutches with his foot in plaster and he was standing on one leg when doing the handballing with Newy.

He was on Fox the other night with Harts, and I think he said he would be able to put weight onto his leg within a week or two.

Also showed off his brand new crutches which are the envy of the other boys lol.  Pretty high-tech ones where i think he said a Melbourne doctor pulled him aside at the game a couple of weeks ago and suggested he try out.

And sorry i can't give you more details of what both the boys said.  When there are pictures on the TV, i perv lol and most of what they say goes out of my little head lol
But I think Harts was so jealous of Newmo's crutches they got a pair for him as well  :rollin

It looked like Harts had his old ones today. Not as fancy as Newy's.

I think this is what Club80 do don't they, buy medical equipment and stuff for the club.
Could be wrong about that, but it is a great initiative if they do  :thumbsup

A couple of new superduper crutches (hopefully we don't need them) are in order.

Gas said at the Club80 function last night that Newman was about 1 month ahead of where Brown was recovery wise at this point in the recovery process

Let's hope so for Newy's sake  :).

Speaking of a Newman, on my way back from Punt Road to work I saw Sam doing street-talk outside Flinders St station today dressed as up as Aker in full Brisbane kit carrying one of those billboards saying "for sale" on one side and "looking for a new home" on his back.
