Ironically, the two games we were belted in, we have a chance to redeem ourselves in shortly. These will be the two crunch games. Sydney and the Doggies.

Agree X and strav. We have a good record up at the SCG so maybe. Saints seem to hitting some form so the doggies game which is our home game at the 'G could be it too.

If Wallace is saying we want to win 5 of our last eight to make the finals and wants to be in the top 8 after facing everyone once.

So going by that I think we must mark down Brisbane esendon and carlton  - which we should win would leave us to win just 1 against sydney stkilda bulldogs or eagles  if this week against the dees was the crunch game and we could pull it off would put us in a very good position to do just that  :gotigers

I reckon we'll knock off the eagles at the 'G this time around.

True but I hope everyone doesn't go "same old Richmond" after Friday night if we lose. The Dees game is the toughest of the final 8 games. I'm expecting us to get done as I reckon they'll be too quick and classy for us. They're a mature side going for the flag while we are still trying to build and improve for the future. Terry will earn his money big time if he comes up with some wizardry tactics to get us over the line. Nearly on par with the Crows win if we pull it off.

If we're going to have a "crunch" game then after tonight's diabolical effort it has to be next week against the Saints. Terry m,ight want to wait until his old side but if we lose to the Saints then we'd need to win our last 5 games straight which is unlikely. It's win or bust next week.

maybe terry expects us to beat the saints and dogs at the g, and our crunch game may be either brisbane , carlton or the bombers, a game we always lose but are expected to win.

eg the blues last yr!!

Eade has pulled out the crunch game tag himself. Said there's a bit of a strained relationship between Terry and Chris Grant.

Griffen in Tigers' sights, says Eade (The Age)

Griffen in Tigers' sights, says Eade
Michael Gleeson
The Age
August 3, 2006

TERRY Wallace might deny it but Rodney Eade is under no illusions that Ryan Griffen's name will have been heard more than any other at Punt Road Oval this week.

The young footballing innocent mentioned on radio after the Bulldogs' 115-point belting of Richmond in round one that Richmond had given up.

"Terry the master of the motivational tools at his disposal will use Ryan Griffen's comments from last time, there is no doubt," Bulldogs coach Eade said.

Wallace has said he no longer puts players "in the gun" for special physical and verbal attention in a game. But the Dogs speculated before the round-one match that Griffen would likely be the one to be targeted by the Tigers and they figure after his comments post-match in round one he will likely attract attention again.

"There's a fair chance of that (Griffen being put in the gun). Last time apparently we got their game plan so we will have to try to seek the same person and see if we can get their game plan again.

"But I would imagine (he would be in the gun) and I would imagine they would be playing Ryan Griffen's comments but hopefully Terry plays his own and his captain's comments from last time as well. They were very similar, so we will see what happens," Eade said.

Eade also suggested that the ill-feeling between Wallace and his former captain Chris Grant as he breaks the club's games record would further needle Wallace's desire for a win and add spice — and spite — to the match.

Grant and Wallace have long had a frosty relationship.

This week when interviewed on Fox Footy's On The Couch about his career in preparation for becoming the club's longest-serving player, Grant paid tribute to those who had helped him but mentioned he had learnt more in Eade's first season than in all of his previous 14.

Sounds like tonight was our "crunch" game. Wallace had the boys out in the middle of the ground in their suit and tie before that game at 5 o'clock revving them up.
