How many weeks for Razor?
« on: August 27, 2006, 03:50:34 AM »
Watching it live on the members' wing it looked from our angle like just two players diving at the ball a la Notting and Caracella. That's why all the members went off at the report lol. But on the tv replay it doesn't look good for Razor. He might miss a game or two next year if the tribunal go hard on him.

Can you get off for being clumsy and not looking at where you are going when you collide with an opponent?! lol

I disagree MT, i think Razor should get off.

Razor had already committed to the ball before Peverill had hit the ground.

I dont think there is anything in it and it should be withdrawn IMO.

I agree with Bull, Hall was going for the ball, there is nothing in it.
As for that d**khead Johnson hitting Petts, thats the one that needs to be looked at.

Ray Hall can accept a 1 game suspension with a guilty plea.

Mark Jonhson can accept a reprimand with a guilty plea.

Alan Didak has been cleared.

Richmond's Ray Hall can also accept a one-match ban for engaging in rough conduct against Essendon's Damien Peverill.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct, medium impact, in play and high contact - equating to 225 points or a two match ban but that was increased to 247.5 points because Hall had a previous two-match suspension on his record.

But with an early plea he can accept 185.63 points and a one-match ban.

He's played 99 so his 100th would be this week if he escaped suspension.

I'm not sure what else Razor was expected to do as he went for the ball but it just didn't look good from the tv vision which is what the match review panel was going by. The tribunal has also said they will crack down on head high contact so not a good time to get reported. If we can argue it was negligent rather than reckless then Razor might escape with a reprimand.

As mentioned in the club corner thread Paul Armstrong said we haven't decided whether to challenge the charge. I think we will to get Razor off to play his 100th. If Razor loses his appeal then he'll miss this week anyway and a just NAB Cup game next year. No major damage as far as games that matter.
