Life defining games
« on: October 23, 2006, 03:20:49 AM »
Borrowing a topic from BB, what are some of your memorable personal memories that coincide with a particular game? Could be a birth, marriage, etc... anything that stood out. A footy equivalent of where were you when man landed on the moon.

Please post the round and outcome of the game if you can remember, so we can locate it in our collective memories. What Richmond moments defined our own personal histories over the years?

21 April, can't remember year - 2002 or 2003 - played St Kilda at the Dome
My dad was seriously ill in hospital and I got a phone call during the game to say he wouldn't make it through the night.
Pretty memorable game for me - not only for that, but it was my birthday that day.
BTW, he's still with us.

Not quite the happy, uplifting memorable games you were after, I bet, MT lol - but it does stick in my head

R2, 2001 vs Dogs (Libba-Knights incident) was my birthday. First time the Tiges lost on my birthday too. The second time was when Thursty did his knee this year.

1982 GF - first time I cried at the footy (I was 9  :wallywink) and the day I learnt to hate Carlton lol  :thumbsup

Not a game but I did my VCE/HSC the year of SOS.

I've mentioned this before a couple of times - Being interstate and then OS in 95 and 2001 respectively. I know when and how to pick them :P.
