Player review: 26. Adam Pattison

Patto ended up playing 15 games in his 2nd year after beginning with just 2 in the first 7 rounds of the year. He averaged 8 disposals, 3 marks and 3 hitouts.

How did we rate his year and can he cement his spot in the side as a forward/2nd ruckman in 2007?

I have given Patto a 6 out of ten, maybe a little generous but i think he still had a fairly good season when you consider where he is at in his career.

Still has a lot of development with his physical size but his skills are good and seems to have a bit of a footy head.

I think Patto can develop into a more than handy forward/follower.

Steady improvement but still alot of development required

Certainly still struggles a bit with the tempo of the game IMO

Yet to display any real presence on the field, but has some attributes to see him cement No 2 ruck ahead of Knobel.

Would like to see him continue improvement and bag at least 20 goals this season as a Benny Gale type ruckman/forward.

I think he improved in his ground coverage as the year went on, he seemed to be floating around the right areas a lot more.

Did some things at times that suggest he can become a good player.  Needs lots more game time to adjust and feel comfortable at the level.

Still has a long way to go and a lot to learn, but I'n maintaining the faith. His endurance and good marking, along with excellent character, should see him eventually become a very good player. He's also working hard on improving his speed and agility.

big men usually take longer to develop
no questioning Pattos commitment and endeavour, just needs to start hurting the opposition
will still spend time on the pine in 07 but ahead of most of the other giants and surely the coaches choice
