Our forward line?
« on: January 16, 2007, 02:48:16 AM »
Yesterday at training there was a lot of work done with our forward line. Obviously the personnel will chop and change throughout a game as players rotate through positions but who do you guys and gals think will be in our forward line?

Although I'd personally like Meyer behind the ball on a HBF or wing, I think you're pretty much on the mark Magic as far as what Plough plans to do. Meyer can always rotate with the likes of Lids, Paddy, Jacko, Krak and Blingers.

Cheers MT. :thumbsup
That forward line if it fires has the 'potential' to be as good as any in the comp.
However it could just as easily end up a basket case.

Petiffer- Has to continue to improve and not rest on his laurels as he's been known to in the past. :sleep
Richardson- Still has it in spades but for how long? At 32 he'll be more prone than ever to the injuries he's copped during his career. :pray
Kingsley- No real expectations for this player. If he does well and stays fit, it will be a real bonus for us.
Brown- Plenty of questions about whether he's still the player he was. Hopefully he can rise to the challenge.
Schulz- Ready to go. Has the talent but it is now or never for Jay one feels.
Meyer- Probably fighting for a spot with Krak but is a better option for me. Has shown glimpses but still plenty to prove.

As usual much of it will come down to the quality of ball from the mids and Richardson's ability to work in tandem with other KPPs.

Ideally the scorecard should look something like this in '07:

Goals

Pettifer 35
Richardson 45
Kingsley 35
Brown 42
Schulz 50
Meyer 25

I'd like to see that!!

I really like the NAB scoreboard idea, I think it'll keep pushing players like Schulz and Petts to get the best out of themselves, let's face it, everybody loves a little friendly competition and to have bragging rights about where they are and how they perform.
And you may not think I care for you

First four I think are realistic but I can't see Schultz getting anywhere close to 50 goals or Meyer 25 goals.  I'd throw Kraks into the ring before Meyer.

Schulz would just be happy to get finally through the whole season without copping another injury. Two hammies in the space of a month isn't a great start  :-\. Agree with Julz that the first four are realistic with Krak probably ending up 5th highest.
