Kayne Pettifer - finally delivering?
« on: April 03, 2007, 02:33:08 AM »
4 goals on the weekend. If he can kick 3 or so per week that's a handy 60 goals for the year from a HF flanker.

Is he finally delivering and where does Pettifer sit in the pecking order at Punt Rd. Top 5, 10, .....?

2 -3 goals is what I would expect from Kayne, he's a good player. Just needs to maintain that mongrel which he does have for the full 120 minutes and not whinge or play for frees and he will get the 50 + and a bit more, once again a player that must die for the jumper and will be a valuable asset in years to come. :thumbsup

he is good value but at times cheats and plays 4 a free rather than go 4 teh pill 100%
if he can improve in that area he will become the next russell roberston

Agree, if Petts can consistently deliver 2-4 goals a game as well as provide a mobile forward target then I think he is finally delivering. However he needs to harden up more (something he has already improved drastically in, but plenty to go), get a few more hard ball gets and stop playing for frees.

I genuinely believe that Petts can step up even further and become an AA. He won the Larke Medal in 2000 I think, and that was the year with Riewoldt and Kozi (although they were both playing in the 2nd division   :rollin). So there probably is a bit me further untapped ability.

I'm with you bluey. Petts is becoming a very reliable and classy footballer. Something we badly need more of at Punt Rd. I'm tempted to put him in the top 5 at Richmond now days.
