Our last quarters
« on: April 10, 2007, 03:18:16 PM »
It's still too early in the season but we are getting pumped on the scoreboard in our last quarters. Just 7 scoring shots to 19 -> 3.4 to 8.11.

nothing to do with fitness.

We just cant withstand the pressure of another team wanting a win
and as such.crumble.

If leaders led properly............

Agree with Ox about Saturday. We knew how to fight and work hard to stay in the game but didn't know how to win it once we got in front. We didn't play the percentages.

Poor decision making again that resulted in costly turnovers - that was what cost us  :'(

True WP. We tried to create passes that weren't there and kicked to the wrong spots instead of playing the percentages. You don't kick to a crowded spot 40m out from goal as Howat did; you kick to the top of the square. We also didn't go back and switch the play enough when trapped close to the boundary. The Swans are very good at that. We kept trying to go down the line to 50/50 contests.

The below quarter by quarter scores are pretty damning. For the first 3 quarters we're on track for 4 goals per quarter and a 16 goal game that Plough kept on about when he first arrived at Punt Rd. Then in the last we hardly score ???. 15 Tigers out of the 22 had 1 kick or none in the last quarter last night :o. Too many passengers.
