Theres been a lot of talk about Joel Smith not wanting to talk about a new contract until the end of the season.
Apparently he wants to play more in the middle and isnt getting that with the hawks, he is getting on a bit but can play. What would you be prepared to give away in return for him?

Fletcher, Chaffey, Nicholls, Hilton, Marsh, Weller, Morrison and Blumfield
If they still refuse, chuck in Houlihan. But play hard ball. We don't want to off load all our duds to one team.

Seeing Joel's a right footer - I'd give a way a left footer.
Mark Chaffey and being generous they can have Blumfield as well but I'd want a 3rd round pick as well

Not doubt he's a good running player with high standard skills but at 27 years of age (obviously 28 next year) I don't see him fitting into our rebuilding phase. By the time we get a good side on the paddock in 3-4 years time he'll be in the twilight of his career.
However if we were to give up something for him then Chaffey would be my choice too.

People are big on the re-building phase.....I think that he would be of value off the half-back providing drive and as a BACK-UP midfielder to the A team...
I actually think that Chaffey would also be reasonable....Id also be willing to throw in a 3rd/4th round pick considering we have a number of kids being blooded at the moment.
Final Answer: Chaffey + 3rd/4th pick

No draft picks even if it's a 4th or 5th rounder. Remember that someone like Jackson, Newman or Hartigan can be picked up with a late pick.
Trade him for Chaffey. If not pick him up in the PSD.
