Summary

* No we didn't expect to be 0-8. We had high hopes coming into the season and had hard preseason. We've been competitive in the early games and apart from the Geelong game we've had a crack. Been unfortunate.

* With Simmo and Knobel missing with ankle injuries he's had to do more of the ruck duties. Having a smaller body it's been difficult competing with the bigger ruckman.

* It's been a learning curve against Everitt, Lade, ... which has been good. Learnt a lot. Terry has said I might concede the hitout but to use my strength of winning the ball around the ground.

* Simmo and Monkhurst has been very helpful with the work around the ground. Being smarter and running the right angles and to the right spots.

* Loved to become a goalkicking ruckman. Something he wants to add to his game. Played more behind the ball against the Crows.

* Patto's first dreamtime game this week.

* What has Terry has done over the last 2-3 weeks to freshen things up? Terry encouraged players like Raines, Lids, Newy to run and carry out of the backline. A licence to be brave. There's still a lighthearted mood around the place. We're not giving up. The players catch up for dinner every couple of weeks.

* Mentioning Jack making his debut.

* Kingsley very close. Not sure. Good to have him back for his experience as he was good to have around in the preseason.

* Simmo - pretty close but not too sure.

* Micky McGuane felt we needed to get back to winning the contested ball which was something we prided ourselves on the past year or two. He felt that some of our blokes and as a team had fallen away in that area. Patto said that was a fair comment and we have tried to push an extra HF up to the contest and keep the ball in the contested area.

* Micky gives us a chance this week. Gave Edwards a pack on the back.

Patto obviously is a few years away and needs to build up his strength but he's coming along nicely at this stage IMO.

Patto still has to refine his skills, but pleased that he gives it a go and likes to get his hands dirty
