Crunch-ball game?
« on: May 31, 2007, 05:36:43 PM »
I have nothing to back this up but I have a feeling this week will be the crunch ball game even if Plough in the past usually leaves it to nearer the end of the season. When you're favourites for the first time after 10 weeks beggars can't be choosers and the crunch ball is for a game we believe we have a strong chance of winning.

Just another plough gimmick that has no substance.
can tell you last year it was against the saints, The ball was deflated at half time before the players got back in the room and thrown in the bin. ::)

They basically choose a game and set themselves to make the commitment not to lose. It's usually timed against a similar or weaker opponent as a season-defining game which doesn't make sense this year but Plough said he has one each year. I think they sign the ball and then auction it off afterwards.
