Twelve new AFL life members announced
11:20 AM Mon 4 February, 2008
afl.com.au

Nine players automatically qualified for the honour during the 2007 season by reaching 300 games of service: Brownlow Medallist Jason Akermanis, former Fremantle captain Peter Bell, Sydney ruckman Peter Everitt, Essendon full-back Dustin Fletcher, Norm Smith Medallist Shannon Grant, triple Brisbane Lions' premiership player Nigel Lappin, 2007 All-Australian captain Andrew McLeod, current Kangaroos' captain Adam Simpson along with retired Carlton captain Anthony Koutoufides.

The commission also recognised outstanding service to the game by three people, awarding life membership to Geelong and former West Coast CEO Brian Cook, former Richmond captain and president Neville Crowe and Adelaide chairman Bill Sanders.

St Kilda's Ken Whiffin has also been awarded the Jack Titus Service Award for conspicuous service to game.

AFL Chief Executive Officer Andrew Demetriou said the commission was delighted to be recognising 13 outstanding contributors to the game.

"The AFL is always very conscious of its history and recognising those people who have done so much to make our game as strong as it is," Mr Demetriou said.

"Life membership of the sport you have served is the ultimate acknowledgement by everyone in the game of your efforts and the new inductees are indeed extremely deserving."

Congrats to Neville. Long deserved  :clapping

They should also give him a retrospective premiership medallion for the one that was stolen from him by a cheat.

Absolutely.  He continues to be a tireless club servant and was one of the main reasons we survived the Save Our Skins era.

Got me thinking.  Those low life Bluebaggers have turned cheating into an art form - Nicholls/Crowe, Elliott/Salary Cap, 2007/Tanking. Karma is a wonderful thing!  :pray

Ditto Ditto Ditto  have been getting away with it since 1897. :thumbsup

Add in the 1982 Grand Final. Does Helen D'Amico ring a bell. Revenge will be sweet. Pity Neil Balme didn't knock them all out with  right hooks in 1973 low lying scum that they all are. Nicholls was always a maggot a fairy slap that missed the mark from Crowe and he falls to the ground like a sissy then a guy half his side in the 1973 Grannie makes him groggy and concussed. In an era when it was an unwritten law to not dob in your peer at the tribunal real noble from Big Dick oops Big Nick.
Anyway well done to Neville Crowe worked hard for the Tigers and still does. A true Tiger and a very happy character to boot.
I remember his Formplex adds in the late 80's early 90's.
