Moron Reporter, Mark Stevens, for Melb Herald sun rightly pointed out that Richo has more goals from frees than anyone else, that he is the umpires pet!  What he neglected to mention was the amount of interest he is shown by opposition players and the number of opponents he is up against everytime the ball heads in his direction.

Richo has more goals from frees than anyone else

Is that for this year only? I would be surprised if that was based on an average over his whole career.

It's not how many frees you get, it's how many obvious ones are missed or are ticky-touchwood. Richo falls into the former while Lloyd falls into the latter with his diving routine. I would say Richo for the first time in his AFL career got a good run with the umpires against the doggies this year as they actually paid frees that were there which in other games are ignored where Richo is concerned.

Most full-forwards get it tough though except if your name is Matthew Lloyd.

Wonder if Stevens was ready to go with a "Richmond implode" article but with the non-event truce had to find another Richmond bashing piece. Obviously a slow news day  .

Let's not let the facts get in the way of a good dig at the Tigers & Richo.

Though Richo may have scored more goals from frees than Matthew Lloyd.  Matthew Lloyd has received more free kicks than Richo.

It is not Richo's fault that he's converted more of  them
