Richo on SEN

* Still got a couple of years left in him.

* 5 coaches - Northey, Walls, Geisch, Spud and Plough. All give you something.

* Still optimisitic about our future. A necessary backward step to play the young guys.

*  Players a more behaved now but every incident is now reported.

* Northey changed the list around at the end of 93. 15 changes. Exciting times until Northey left. Disappointing for Richo and the players.

* When things are going well it's fantastic. When things aren't the media will jump on us more because our support base is larger and more passionate and so will react.

* Vast majority of supporters 98% have given him significant support. Still getting emails although not as many as when he was younger.

* Schwarz said Tiger supporters were the most feral and got fairly personal. Richo replied that he had once a Pies fan chuck a hipflask of bourbon on him while coming out onto the ground at half time. That's pretty feral.

* The big crowd at the 'G lifts him. You go to another zone and the supporters help you there.

* 59% accuracy. Yeah it could be better. Knows he cops it about his goalkicking and body language. Hopes he's offered more than that to footy. At training kicks 80% but you can't replicate the game pressure and fatigue (lactic acid in legs). Roachy gave him the most help. Accuracy probably the highest then. Then Wheadon with his study of biomechanics.

More to come.....

Richo was just talking about how much David Wheadon had helped him with his goal kicking.

Well done David LOL

Callers now ....

* 300 - see how we'll go

* While playing cricket hit a six through the goalposts that were still up. A few in the crowd shouted "you hit 'em straighter than you kick 'em Richo"  ;D

* Poor skills - lack of confidence to run off your man into space making targets harder to hit. Blames it on lack of confidence. We do practice our skills a lot at training.

* KPPs - Schulz (knows it's time to step up), Jack (will probably play in the next few weeks), Cleve. Young guys that just need game time.

* We know why fans get frustrated. They just want their team to do well.

* At the moment he still feels fit and capable to run around and play half-forward. Prefers to play there. The plan to play him closer to goal as he gets older is still there but right now still able to run around.

* Rawlings has a future in coaching and has fitted in well. Has a excellent knowledge of football.

* Kids - starting to get to that stage as all his former teammates of the same age have kids.

Dont know what the LOL is for 1965.
David Wheadon actually writes the coaching manuals for the AFL and oversees the certificate of coaching courses which are needed to coach at any level in Victoria.
And for what is worth, is currently an assistant at Geelong and mentors Bomber Thompson. He is also the main reason that Selwood and the younger players at geelong are performing so well as he is  charge for all the development of the younger players.

Also 1965, IF you ever get the opportunity to ask Wayne Campbell who had the biggest influence in regards to strategies and techniques on football, I dont have to tell you who he will say.. David Wheadon.
