Summary

* Greg was up in Queensland to watch the U16 Champs to get a handle of them before next year's draft. Francis Jackson is still up there. Greg saw the first 4 days of the carnival. Get a database of names. Eg: Look for a Joel Selwood or Varcoe who had a year out injured as a junior so this gives you the chance to see these kids in case something like that happens.

* How much footy development from 15 to 17/18 years old? Talls/ruckman change dramatically. Midfielders you get an idea of their capabilities. Easier to pick come draft day too. Kids are still growing so gangly ruckman especially can change so much and you can be off the mark picking them as 15 year olds.

* Vic Metro v WA as good as footy as you'll like to see. They are playing modern AFL footy across the ground - structures, etc. WA are producing a lot of AFL players due to their big open dry grounds and play a lot of hit up style footy. Metro a bit harder, tighter footy.

* RFC's draft strategy: Same as always been - take best player available.

I couldn't make out exactly what else Miller said here. Something about some may say you should take the best big? but that's done via trading period or those sort of things in the draft. Proven method to go for best available player.

* 2007 - disappointing. A big test on belief around the club. Pleased with the belief around the club. Players have kept up mentally week after week. Admin has stuck together and stands by our long-term strategy. Started the season losing very close games week after week with key players out of the side. Last 3-4 weeks have been hard to take.

* Club has remained solid. Past 25 years was sack coaches, sack directors, change committees, etc. We believe what we're doing and in each other and that filters through the whole organisation. Pleased with that.

* Obviously like to take the win at KP last year over the 157 point annihlation earlier this year. A chance to go down there this weekend as a unit, gain experience and believing they can win.

* Success stories:
- the fact the Club has stuck together. No fracturing inside the Club at all. Completely different to the past. A success story in itself.
- Learnt a lot about ourselves in tough times as a admin.
- Foley
- Polak
- Getting 10-20 games into cubs that will be part of our future.

Maybe a clue there if we don't get first pick and Kreuzer. Go for a mid in Masten or Morton?
