Rate a Tiger's year: 26. Adam Pattison

How did we all rate Patto's year?

Played 18 games this year for a career total of 35. Averaged 13.3 disposals (21st best Tiger), 4.8 marks, 9.8 hitouts and 2.7 tackes per game.

Initially didn't like him much.  But since Simmo's been out a lot with injuries and Knobel was non-existent, Patto really stepped up to the mark and proved himself against a lot more experienced ruckmen.

patto was thrown in the deep end and told to sink or swim. intially it looked like he was going to drown but his will to survive and compete kept him going.
he improved week in week out and just loves the contest and to compete.
as soon as he settles and finds a good routine with his goal kicking he will be a top player. has a long range tank and a supersize ticker

I was happy with his season.

For someone so young to take on the number one ruck position all year was a huge effort, and he didn't sink either, he started to swim.

Has fantastic ground coverage, and gets a lot of touches around the ground.

Needs to tighten up his disposal and win some hit outs.

And you may not think I care for you

Patto showed that if a cub is physically capable of playing AFL then there's no harm in throwing him in the deep end. In fact Patto would've learnt more this year than ever being fast-tracked. He struggled early on with the workload but when he came back into the seniors he was showing some very good signs by the end of the year. Love his big motor. He easily had the better of Josh Fraser and Pie fans want pick 2 for him  :whistle.

Was a watershed year for Patto.
Carried the burden for virtually the entire season and by seasons end
was a consistent and valuable member of the side. Can see a role for him
at the club for many years to come.
The final quarter against the Crows in Adelaide this year when he racked up 12
posessions proved that with time and consistency this boy will mature into an
excellent ruckman who can pick up possessions around the ground.
Skill needs a brush up but then again he's a Tiger and whose doesn't other than a select few. :lol
He has a very big heart and a strong work ethic. Admire his perserverance and attitude. Just on effort and attitude and spirit can become a future member of the leadership group.

At the start of the year did not think he was ready and would play out the year at Coburg.
As it happened he had to step up and was very happy with his progress after being chucked in the deep end.
Some of the injuries we have copped, requiring us to fast track some players may prove a bonus in a year or 2

Brian Royal's RFC player review

Adam Pattison

All in all it was pleasing to see Adam play 18 games as our No.1 ruckman – he did a great job. I don’t think he is going to be a No.1 ruckman, but I think what this year has done for Adam has given him an enormous amount of confidence and belief he can play at AFL level. I think he can be a very good centre half-forward for us because he is an extremely hard worker and a terrific kid.
