Yeah or Neah: 32. Greg Tivendale

Next up out of contract is Tivs.

Tivs played 19 games this year averaging 18.7 disposals (2nd best of his career) in his 10th year at Punt Rd. He also kicked 15 goals 9. Tivs has missed just 6 matches in 8 years  :o.

Yeah or Neah for Tivs?

I thought Tivendale had a good year. Was made a scapegoat early on. His kicking has improved. I can't see why he cops it so much.

X is running to the nearest Sicilian internet cafe as we speak  ;D

A keep from me for Tivs. I thought he was alright this year and like you DC criticised more on his reputation and his previous years' efforts rather than what he actually did this year. More good games rather than "Tiva" games turning over the footy IMO and when he did have "Tiva" games Plough did drop him. He didn't sulk about it either and earnt his play back in the side as his Liston votes showed.

Tivs is a senior player who won't be part of our next premiership nor has trade value but allows the cubs to develop and play their own game around him in the midfield. When the cubs bypass him in a year or two then Tivs can hang up his boots.

True, but I say Yeah for Tivs because as a fringe player he'll keep competing with Connors and Casserly for a spot instead of just handing it over and letting them get comfortable with little competition form seasoned players.

I will not be at all surprised in the B&F if Tiv is near the top of the leader board for the first 6 rounds or so - he start to the season was very good.

Credit to him he took his medicine when he was dropped

He's a keep for mine as insurance

True he goes missing under pressure, but reckon in a side up and going will still be a valuable contributor.
keep for mine, reckon he could be worth something tho and if another club thinks so would be interesting to see what could be put up.

From Royal's played review

Greg Tivendale

Greg is a much-maligned player with Richmond supporters. I believe Greg is one of the more consistent players we have but, at times, Richmond supporters don’t see that, and I feel a bit sorry for him. Greg’s a terrific player and is someone who is going to be around the place for a few more years.
