1. Carlton – Matt Kreuzer (ruckman)
Pros – mobile and skilful for a guy at 200cm
- 2nd and 3rd efforts are inspirational
- never stops running
- been very consistent at junior level
Cons - average rucking skills may be exposed
- is a bit of a tweener so where does he play?
2. Richmond – Trent Cotchin
Pros – brilliant football brain, appears a step in front of the play
- beautiful kicking off both feet
- team-orientated and looks to bring team-mates into the game
- genuine match-winner
Cons – needs to build up his tank to move permanently into the midfield
- didn’t perform as expected at the U18 champs
3. West Coast – Chris Masten
Pros - genuine ball winner, fantastic knack of finding the ball in congestion
- never stops running
- brings team-mates into the game
- creative with his disposal, especially by hand
- natural leader
Cons - kicking lacks depth
- nursed through OP this year? so will have to be handled carefully
4. Melbourne – Cale Morton
Pros - prototypical footballer, fantastic combo of height (191cm) and skills
- Good all-round athlete
- shone at the U18 champs
- routinely makes good decisions

- where does he play?
5. Bulldogs – David Gourdis
Pros - workhorse

- good converter
- always tries to bring team-mates into the game

- lacks agility
6. Essendon – David Meyers
Pros - Fantastic combo of height (190cm) and skills

- good in all areas but not brilliant in any one
7. Freo – Rhys Palmer
Pros - daring and attacking player who runs the line
- is a goal kicking mid

- hard at the ball
- consistent performer
Cons - not spectacular at any one thing
- disappointing at the champs
9. St Kilda – Alex Rance
Pros - looks like a genuine full-back
- brilliant athlete and strong bodied
- good skills which makes him dangerous on the rebound
Cons - The WA mid was sublime so their defence had less to do, which begs the question how good is Rance really
10. Adelaide – Ben McEvoy
Pros – elite skills for a ruckman
- very mobile
- versatile, can play in the ruck and up forward
Cons - like Kreuzer is a bit of a tweener so will he be able to make it full time as an AFL ruck
