RICHMOND forward Nathan Brown says nearly two years on the sidelines through injury may eventually extend his career, allowing him to play until his mid-30s.
Brown has played only 31 of a possible 66 games in the past three seasons because of complications that came after he broke his leg in Round 10, 2005.
But 29-year-old Brown, who has not missed a beat this pre-season and is set to play against St Kilda in the NAB Cup next Friday, says he could play until he is 34.
"I feel fresh, like one of the young boys, and touch wood everything goes well this year and I can play for another three, four or maybe even five years," Brown told the Richmond website yesterday.
"I'm feeling fitter than I have done for the last three years. It's great to be out there and injury-free and feeling like part of the group again.
"I'm excited about playing Round 1 and all the games because I haven't done that in a while now."
