Wallace on SEN:
Commentators joked about Terry asking for a contract extension after two wins in a row. Plough was listening and rang up. Just got off the plane.
* Not looking for a contract extension after two NAB Challenge wins but nor the sack (laughs)
* Not getting carried away but showing strong signs.
* Simmo real good. Richo the dominant player on the ground followed by Barry Hall (4 goals).
* Lids kicked 3, Petts 2. McMahon improved form. A good hit out.
* Lids will play forward but then rotated role through the midfield. A lot like Luke Hodge's role at Hawthorn. Use in that varied way.
* Cogs will play against Geelong. Whether he'll be right for round 1 will depend how he'll go next week. See if he can he step up to senior level at this stage of his comeback.
* Basically have a fully fit squad going into this year. That's what was disappointing about the Saints game. We didn't fire a shot.
* Schulz out for a week or so. Cotch to round 3. Apart from that everyone else is fine. Different from last year so no excuses on that front.
* Polak solid.
* Still a trial period. Didn't do much match play prior to Saints game. Underdone. Tried things like Rainsey in the midfield, Silvester on Gehrig, Tuck in backline. Doesn't excuse the bad turnovers and poor decision making but we were trialing things.
* Physiques - JON still only 19. Takes blokes 4 years of development.
* Tambo dynamic tonight and according to the umps would have got votes tonight. Richie is a traditional rover but wasn't physically and mentally mature enough to play those roles until now.
* Q from Billy from West Heidelberg - Would like to see Lids in the midfield, waste of talent up forward?
Plough used Hird as an example. Lids played well in the midfield tonight and was dynamic with 3 goals tonight up forward. Lead our inside 50 count last year. Combine both roles.
* Collins - terry gave him a wrap. Said he handled himself very well in his first senior game.
* Winning leading into the season is obviously good for the confidence. Look at Essendon. Handled themselves well against tonight going by the scores so would be more confident than say 4 weeks ago.
* Playing Saints, Sydney and Geelong leading into the real stuff is good preparation.
* Kingy on Judd - He's our He-man.
