Coburg go down to Bendigo Bombers
« on: August 14, 2004, 04:56:52 PM »
Windy Hill  Saturday August 14, 1:00 pm

Bendigo Bombers 1.1 5.6 7.7 9.11 (65)
Coburg Tigers 1.4 1.7 3.10 4.11 (35)

I missed the first half so my best players (which were hard to find) come from the second half.

I liked Foley's game. Seemed to be one of the few Coburg players who used his brain in the atrocious wet conditions. No other Richmond players stood out for mine apart from the same old blokes making the same old mistakes. Andy Kellaway appears to be heading that way as well sadly.

The ball was so slippery that 95% of marks were chest marks under no pressure.   We tried too many times to play dry weather footy and overuse cute handballs when the best option was just to bomb it long straight down the guts and keep the footy moving forward.

I managed to stay for 3 quarters - just got to say the some of the Burgers played some dumb footy in the wet. Little quick handballs in weather like that was dumb dumb

RFC player standouts - Tuck (what a surprise), Raines (give the kid a game -don't just fly him to Adel to watch ;)) Foley and Nicholls (at least he kicked it long) -

I actually watched the game on TV.....was in Footscray at my cousins and thought I will go until she started a comin' and I thought Ill go home under a blanket in front of the fire and watch it......

I thought that Foley looked the most dangerous for us. Raines was decent as was Tucker....Nicholls got a lot of it and tried hard but he really isnt up to scratch. Roach was almost unseen, Fletcher can pack his bags....Morrison...ahhhh, Chubba ohhhh Chubba....

I seriously dont rate Pagan...I thouht he wasnt that good, to be rated in the best is a bit much.

And kudos to WP....that football style was absolutely poo!

Fair Call shano62 but the agreement is Coburg only wears the Richmond jumper when they play at Punt Road.
