Petts on 3aw after the game
« on: May 24, 2008, 10:51:07 PM »
Petts interviewed by Rohan in the rooms after the game:

* Suspension was undisciplined. The boys had a big win in Perth so he had to work hard to get back into the side.

* Been working on forward pressure - tackling and 2nd efforts. Now a important part of the game.

* A game of pressure so everyone has to be able to do it or you're out of the side.

* Said he had a good first half, a lull in the 3rd and then a good 4th.

* Yeah got excited after that goal. Boys came over which got the confidence up.

* Even spread of marks inside 50 tonight. Not just Richo having 10.

* Tough road for the boys being competitive over the past 5 weeks without a win. Getting the 4 points is the main thing so happy with the win.

* Knew they would cop a spray from Knighter and come out hard. Good that we steadied with Sugar and Browny kicking a couple of last goals in the 3rd. Plough did gives us a spray at 3/4 time.

* Yeah we've got to back it up and win 2-3 games in a row to be a competitive side.

* Yeah he hopes to get a regular game now.

He was good tonight! Good first half a lull in the 3rd and back in 4th? Sounds like the whole team.

Credit where credit's due. Petts was excellent first half and he was applying forward pressure for a change but he needs to show it consistently and against decent sides. Essendon are the worst team in the comp right now by a long long way.
