Umpiring today
« on: June 07, 2008, 07:56:51 PM »
Okay I'm not going to blame the umps for today's loss but was today one of the most consistently inconsistent displays of umpiring for a while  ???  :P. Slack on holding the ball/illegal disposal (Whitey's tackle on Vince? on the wing was blantantly holding the ball  :banghead) yet strict on "touching" frees. How many frees inside 50 did the Crows get?!  :P

Apart from the 10 goals they got in the first half, I'm not blaming the umpires.
But I'm sure they'd be happy they were out there today   ::)

The way we played in the second half umpiring would not have made a difference in the games result. Perhaps only a points margin so those who threw money on Adelaide by over 39.5 would be happy as compared to those who took the Crows under 39.5. Realistically a 50 point result would have been 26 or 32 points and if you throw in turnovers that resulted directly in goals what would the margin have been?? Simply nowhere near good enough. Umpiring decisions were baffling but not game changing and game defining.

The umpiring was bad in the first half & kept the Crows within touch of the game
Wallace & assistant coaches made some very bad decisions, this costing the game blow out

They showed a couple of the shockers on Ch 10 last night. The first 50m when Moore didn't do anything and the Proplyzia holding the man when he had the ball. Funny how all of them they showed resulted in Crows goals  ::).

5. Matthew James
20. Gary Fila
28. Kieron Nicholls

I wonder who of the 3 will be coaching in the country next week  ::).

Were shocking, inconsistent for both teams. Just seemed like all of the bad decisions against us resulted in easy goals for the Cows.

Yes the first 3 goals the Crows got were giftwrapped to them by the umpires. >:(
